ABOUT ALYSSA SWEENEY

Alyssa Sweeney is currently in her Masters of Fine Arts at Western University. Alyssa’s art medium is photography, creating work centered around spaces of industrialization, urbanization, and abandonment. It is through this subject matter that she intends to display a discourse of abandonment that appears in an individuals everyday life, but has little association which creates a sense of conscious and unconscious ways of looking that intersect with one another. The belief of if one could see everything, they would be able to understand that it all needs to be challenged; seeing something does not mean an individual necessarily understands its context.
